Need to know Information for Fall 2020 Out of Season conditioning
WCPS and the State of Maryland have developed a plan for out of season conditioning for student athletes prior to the official start of sports in the second semester. Below is some of the most critical information you will need to know about participating, time and other requirements. THIS IS A PRIVILEGE AND WE WILL FOLLOW THE CORRECT PROTOCOLS SO THIS OPPORTUNITY IS NOT TAKEN AWAY. WE WILL NOT BE THE PROGRAM THAT RUINS IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE. IF YOU HAVE NOT FOLLOWED ALL THE NEEDED PROCEDURES YOU WILL NOT BE WELCOMED.
Start Date- 9/23
Dates and Times:
The fall conditioning season will run from 9/21-10/23.
Spring is 10/26 -12/4
Winter is 12/7-1/22
We will start condition at 4PM by the Tennis Courts- Please arrive early as there is a check in process I have to maintain. They will last no later than 5:30 PM
Tentatively I am planning on a Monday, Wednesday Thursday schedule.
Protocols:
1. We will maintain Social Distance and small groups
2. When you are closer than 6 ft to someone else you MUST be wearing a mask.
3. In the event that we have more than 15 student-athletes we will have to divide into two "pods" for conditioning.
Paperwork needs before attending conditioning
1. Register on FamilyID
2. The School must have an up to date physical! (From the last calendar year on File) Physical paperwork forms
3. You and your parents must complete the WCPS COVID 19 Approval of Participation form
Goals of Conditioning
Once the postponement of the season was announced, many of you guys stopped running entirely. Our goal is to gradually up your fitness as the fall months go by. We will focus on Pre Hab to prevent injuries, easy mileage, strides, drills and some hill work to work on form and neuromuscular adaption. If some people have more advanced fitness than others we can discuss incorporating workouts to work on specific stimuli but as of now this is more of a reconditioning, re-acclimating period.
